Where is your clinical data hosted?

Until a decade ago, most of your clinical data were documented in paper records and stored in big filing cabinets behind the secretaries' desks in your medical clinic.

Today, this information is stored in the “ cloud” in what is called an electronic medical record (EMR).

Omnimed is one of the only companies certified by the MSSS to host your data on a private cloud on OUR servers in a secure data center IN Quebec.

Is an electronic medical record
really safe?

Omnimed is committed to implementing numerous measures to protect the privacy and the personal information of the patients.

In Quebec, all EMRs must comply with the laws on the protection of personal information and specific rules regarding security and data protection.

Our software is approved by the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec.

Here are some measures taken by our team to ensure the protection of your data:

  • Our platform is safe. We use modern technologies to continuously monitor the activities of our web facilities, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Our physical servers are hosted in Quebec, in a reputable data center (what is also called a “bunker”) that offers ultra-modern equipment and facilities, secured at all times. We also have a back-up data center in a second city in Quebec. Data integrity is very important to enable your healthcare professionals to provide you with the best care.

  • Users of our system belong to professional orders with a code of ethics. They maintain education related  to the respect of confidential information and the access to information.

  • All access to information and all actions taken are logged in our system to identify who did what and when.

  • Access to your patient record is governed by the concept of consent. By default, your record is not accessible to anyone. It becomes accessible when you give your consent (written or verbal) to a professional to access it. The professional is required to inform you adequately when accessing.
