Telemedicine
The COVID-19 crisis, unfortunately, turned out to be a primer to demystify technological solutions such as "telemedecine" to adapt to a certain type of medical encounters. With our endeavor to improve care, in early March 2020, we signed an agreement with the video platform Reacts. Their video solution enables communication and secure interactions between healthcare professionals and their patients. Our partnership creates a synergy between our two systems and allows a complete remote clinical management solution when caring for your patients.
Are you curious about whether Omnimed is the right platform for you? Let us confirm it for you!
Telemedicine: good practices
In addition to the physical consultation between the health professional and his patient, other forms of medical interaction are made possible, such as consultation by telephone or videoconference. This approach is called telemedicine. A teleconsultation is equivalent to a regular visit for the cases that apply.
Here is a summary of the main steps to follow during a teleconsultation:
-
Introduce yourself to the patient and explain the reason for the call. Make sure you are in a confidential environment;
-
Confirm the patient's identity by reviewing their personal information;
-
Make sure that the patient consents to the type of consultation he is attending, by explaining to him what telemedicine is and its limits;
-
Manage the virtual visit if telemedicine applies to the patient’s need;
-
Document the visit in the patient health record in Omnimed.
