🚩 Gradual roll-out functionality
PrescribeIT® Quebec is being rolled out in waves of gradual additions of pharmacies and clinics, in a provincially planned sequence, in collaboration with involved regions and suppliers. Our team will contact the person in charge of your institution to plan your enrolment in PrescribeIT® when the time comes.

⚠️ Combining electronic prescriptions and paper/fax prescriptions

Only prescriptions to a pharmacy registered with PrescribeIT® can be sent electronically.
Prescriptions to pharmacies not connected to PrescripTIonTM must be sent by electronic or paper fax.

Steps to follow

Here are the steps to follow to send an electronic prescription:

  1. Log in PrescribeIT®.
  2. Update the Allergy summary box. Allergies will be documented on the electronic prescription sent to the pharmacy.
  3. Access the Medications summary box in the patient file.
  4. Add a prescription to the order in the usual way.
  5. Click on the Prescription tab.
  6. Validate the patient's pharmacy in the Administrative Center with the patient.

  7. ➡️ If the patient's pharmacy is registered with PrescribeIT® (see the PrescribeIT® icon to the right of the pharmacy name), click on the Complete and send electronically button. This option is only available if the patient's pharmacy is registered with PrescribeIT®.

➡️ If the patient's pharmacy is not yet connected to PrescribeIT® , click on the Complete and fax button.

You can also give a paper copy of the prescription with its own barcode to the PrescribeIT® service by clicking on the Complete and give to patient button located in the menu under the Complete and send electronically to button.

  8.  Click on the Confirm button in the Confirm order window before completing.

The electronically completed prescription appears at the bottom of the Prescription tab in the Last completed prescriptions section, with the PrescribeIT® icon to indicate that it has been transmitted via PrescribeIT®.

⚠️ In the event of an error in the transmission of the electronic prescription, an exclamation mark icon appears in the Last completed prescriptions section. Please refer to the Communications module to review the error message.
