Fill out a digital advice request (conseil numérique)

Digital advice (conseil numérique) is a communication tool between primary and specialist care providers. It enables primary care providers to ask a specialist a clinical question, and receive an answer within seven days.

Integrating digital advice into the practice of a family doctor or IPS PL represents several significant advantages such as:

  • Rapid access to information;
  • Easier continued training;
  • Informed decision-making;
  • Time optimization;
  • Personalized care;
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration.

Integrating digital advice into family medicine practice not only offers tangible benefits in terms of access to information and clinical decision-making, it also helps to improve quality of care, patient satisfaction and the overall operational efficiency of the medical practice. In around 50% of cases, it avoids the need for a face-to-face consultation.

Send a request for digital advice

To complete a digital advice request for one of your patients, you must :

  1. Be a doctor or an IPS PL. Digital advice is not available for other professions.
  2. Click on the title of the Requests summary box in the patient record. As soon as the module opens, you'll see that it is divided into two sections: on the right inside, the requests that are available for you to fill, on the left the requests that were filled for this specific patient.
  3. Use the search bar to filter the list of SAFIR requests and select the form Conseil numérique. 

  4. When you open the form, you'll see that the sections Identification de l'usager and Demandeur are pre-filled with information from the Administrative center and your user profile. ✏️If necessary, you can modify patient information (e.g. e-mail) directly in the Administrative center.
  5. Complete the form by filling in all the mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk. You can attach files from the top section Attach files.
  6. When the request is complete, click on the Transmettre button at the bottom of the form. To save and complete the request at a later date, click on the À compléter button instead. 
  7. Close the window and return to the requests list by clicking on the back arrow.
  8. Confirm that the status displayed in the Request list section is Transmitted.

Consult the specialist's reply

The deadline for a response to a request for digital advice is seven days.

  1. When the digital advice request receives a response from the specialist, a notification is received in the Results module. ⚠️ The detailed response from the specialist is not included in this notification, and can be found in the patient's record.
  2. View the specialist's response by opening the digital advice request in the Requests summary box in the patient record. To reply, see Reply to the specialist below.

Reply to the specialist

  1. If the specialist is waiting for information from you (« Le spécialiste vous a répondu en spécifiant ceci : Besoin de plus d'information »), be sure to reply within 30 days, otherwise the request will be closed automatically.
  2. If you need more information from the specialist, select "Oui" to the question « Avez-vous besoin de plus d'informations de la part du spécialiste? ».

Finalize the request

Once the request has been answered to your satisfaction, you can finalize the application.

  1. Select « Non » to the question « Avez-vous besoin de plus d'informations de la part du spécialiste? ».
  2. Click on the Finaliser la demande button.
  3. At the top of the form, click Yes to confirm the finalization. ⚠️ If necessary, scroll to the top of the form to see this notification.

⌛ Without any action on your part, the request will be closed automatically within 30 days.
